compressor with sidechain

hey everyone,
recently i've started to put some use to sidechain effect within my music, and the only plugin i know/have is the Compressor from Native Bundle, which comes with the sidechain as an outside effect, and you can turn key input ON after sidechain inserted in some channel.
now the problem with this Vst, is that every time i quit my project and then reload it, the Key Input is reseted and there is no input until i tur it back on, and that's really bugging me.
whats your suggestions to fix that problem if anyone familiar with it?
whats your suggestions to other good sidechain compressor VST? and not the waves compressors, cause i don't know why, but i don't get along with those comps.

ok, so i have the sonalksis comp now,
and i have a question...
how do i route it the so there would be a trigger channel and triggered channel?
lets say i want the kick signal to control the bass signal?
if i put the comp on the bass channel and put the Ext. on, there is still no signal going through the comp. and controlling the compression, but if i put a comp on a group channel, there is no trigger!?!
i'm SX3 user...

2.compressor sc into quadro group as insert ef.
3.Route Bass channel to quadro group
4.Send Kick channel over send parameter to quadro channel.
5.Open kick pan (it should be quadro)an turn it down right in the middle (F/C)
6.Adjust comp. to your taste. |

sorry mate, i tried but no success.
1. quadro group meaning LRCS group? if so, i can't route mono channel into is, because i can pan it either left or right, no center option there... even if i send the audio, not routing to the BUS...
2.done, inserted EXT-ON!
3.routed, same as kick, routing a mono channel which can be panned left or right only, no center there...
4.sending the kick. ok, now while sending up to 0 dB, the channel dry volume it off right?
5.the down right corner sends no signal at all! only top right.
6. even with one channel, the comp doesnt getting sidechaining, only compressing, i checked by turning EXT on and off, low tresh and high ratio for the comp and... same sound both ways...
maybe stereo group wold be better if i route mono channels? 134-139 bpm |

slimslowslider compressor (freeware), sonalksis 517mk2, otiumfx compadre, vanilla compressor (freeware, but i am not really sure if it supporst sidechain).

are you sure u used sv517mk2 SC version? sv517mk2 is an ordinary compressor. you can route both mono or stereo signals, it does not matter.
you should set that the bassline output is routed to that quadro group you created, and the kick should go to main output, with one send goind to quadro group. then open the detailed settings for you kick group, and then you can see the sends on the right side. there is an icon above all sends, just left of the rightmost "0<<" icon. click on it and select "routing" instead of "normal". you'll see a quad panner in the send to the quad group, which is set to front center. set it to back center.

well the comp real name is sonalksis 315Mk2 compressor, the 517 is the EQ plug...
when i route kick to any output and then sending it to the COMP GROUP i hear the kick twice, whether i turn the <<0 icon orange or normal... i have selected the routing option at the channel setting but didn't see any panning there... i'll try that later...

heh, you're right. mixed'em up ....
i mentioned the <<0 icon just as a reference on the screen, i do not say that you are supposed to click on it.
i circled the panner, but it is not a standard left-right panner, this is a quad panner. and it is marked on the picture as it should be set.
