The review:

Yup, it'a Yellow Sunhine Explosion compilation, which means most of you are probably going to go on about most of the tracks already being released and stuff, but tell it to someone who cares ok? YSE is, in my opinion, one of the better new labels nowadays. Sure, they almost don't release original stuff, but they're excellent if you want some quality tracks and have been out of the scene for some time, or if you just don't have the money to keep up with all the new releases, yet still want some quality tracks. Ok, with that out of the way I'm going to tell you what these 2 cd's are gonna serve you. Cd1, as you can see from the tracklist, is made up of some 'star' tracks from various compilations and/or albums. Rest assured there are no particular bad tracks on this. Frogacult is present with one of their best tracks, Xibalba's track is kind of a standout for me, mixing some good proggy with ethnic kinda vocals. Symphonix deliver a quite standard track, pretty groovy. Freq's track is middle-class for his standards. Not really great, bot bad either. The Son Kite remix to the Analog pussy track is good, but I don't like the vocals. The original was even worse though, so I can't complain too much about this version. I've never liked Analog Pussy's music though, so when I say I don't really dig this, it's no big surprise. Zen Mechanics' track was featured on Set:4 from Iboga and this is a stormer! Great rhythm. The vibrasphere remix to Let Us Be from Son Kite is good too, but the original was better. Stands well in the flow of the compilation here though, and is good to dance to. Bad Voodoo is a pretty good track, if you liked previous outings by this group you'll also like this. Neuland is one of the best tracks from the new Silent Sphere album, which in itself isn't too good I've heard. Standard track, not bad. Overall, this cd is pretty good. It's not miles above any other releases, it just is some good tracks and a nice listen. Now, cd2 serves up the ambience side to this double cd. I won't go into detail about these tracks, since they're already released before. Special mention to Gus Till's track though. It has this Vangelis feel to it. Anyone who has listened Oceanic or The City from Vangelis will know what I mean. Vibrapshere is good too. The rest? Well, what can I say: just some good chill tracks to relax to. Lay in the sun, grab a cocktail and just flow with it. Nice! I guess cd2 is the standout here. But as said in the booklet, which concentrates on Tantra (nice info in the booklet by the way), this cd is meant for 'magic moments'. And that's what cd2 sets out to achieve best.

Conclusion: A strong compilation. If you don't have a lot of these tracks already (like I did) then it's an excellent way to get some good quality psytrance and chill in one fine package. Great job YSE! Also: Kudos to Tim Schuldt for another precise and fine mastering!
