I am thinking of installing the Service Pack 2 for win xp. Are there any compatibility issues with any audio related programs? |

If you care about security more then your sound production go for it-
if your computer is working well and everybody's happy wait a month or two

Hiya
Be warned I have encountered a problem installing Service Pack 2 with Cubase 2.01..where the track would attempt to open and just freeze..once I used System Restore to go back before the install of the service pack it worked fine...it could be my system only, but it definitely changed something the Cubase did not like...
peace

Same here, everything except Nero runs smoothly on SP-2. The new version of Nero now runs on SP-2 without problems.

hey there... actually i've checked the issue of sp2
before i installed it and i found 1 big problem.
the problem accures when using firewire 800 protocol, with soundcards like rme Fireface 800.
the firewire in sp2 was limited by microsoft from
800 to 1 !!!! so if you using this you will need to
use a small fix (info about the fix at rme newsgroup).
btw, firewire 400 (rme multiface etc..) works fine, and wasnt limited.
