Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new laptop and was wondering if anyone has experience with moving projects between cubase on windows and cubase on mac? I've read somewhere that cubase on mac uses vst instead of au, is this correct? And do projects transfer smoothly without plugin errors or plugins resetting?

Two friends of mine share ableton projects between a mac and a pc, but sometimes their plugins reset, causing a fair amount of annoyance on their part as they have to redo all the settings hehe...

I'm looking at other laptops too, but wouldn't mind a mac           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com

Hi Vonoom im running cubase 5 on mac 1 year ago and i have parallel projects with dudes are running on a Pc . its all ok but you must see, some plugins for pc its not able for mac . So the person have pc and want to use a plug you don´t have just need to record to wave and send you the project.

cheers!           thoughts become things

Ok, so cubase on the mac doesn't use vst then, but AU... Fair enough, the main plugins I use have both versions.

I'm not sure I've got enough cash to justify buying a mac though, so it might not matter anyway, but it's nice to be informed.

Thanks for the reply           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com

no problems here with cubase ,projects are compatible .

cubase use mac vst no au . i think if you don t use logic you will not need to install any au version of the plugs .

Ah nice one

I'm kind of hooked on the idea of getting a mac hehe, so I might need to dig deep in my pockets and rustle up the cash...           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com

MacPro/Logic user here. If you are going to use Cubase, you'll be wasting cash on a Mac. Get a PC laptop, for the same cash they piss over the MacBooks in terms of speed.

Peace out.

Hmm, my thoughts too after a bit of research. Seems I can get a fair bit more ooompah for my money with a pc laptop... Decisions decisions...           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com

I reckon it's going to be a dell xps 15 in the end. Good value for money and good reviews as far as I can tell. It will make my life easier in the long run to have two windows systems, not just for music, but also all the other things I would use my computers for...           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com
