Okay. So I know it's a sound that everyone has heard if they have listened to psy-trance. It's the rrrrraaaaooooowwwww-w-w-w. LOL. I know that it's gotta be a pitch and cutoff thing but I was just wondering if anyone could shed any more light on how to create this sound. I am hosting an example here:

Any help is much appreciated. Cheers to all!!! |

almost any FM synth can make this kind of sound without cutoff simply by programming the amount of modulator with LFO, envelope, velocity, modulation, pitchwheel or any combination of those.
FM is a bit tricky but it offers SO much more than subtractive synthesis once you get to know what you're doing.
try new FM8... it's quite simple for an FM synth.

It sounds like just an LFO modulating the pitch, although the LFO frequency is changing speeds half way through the bar... I think.

I guess it depends on if you know how to use it..... Most soft synths can make this sound, it just takes time to figure it out.

Modulation and/or pitchbend in almost every synth do the job!

Try Z3ta!
And this not only to you, but to all non Z3ta users:-)
It's an awesome synth and it's way more flexible than Albino.
For example this sound, you can create much longer and deeper pitch slides with Z3ta. |
