I'm coming for a post-graduate studies in Dresden this year so I was wondering if there are trance parties there..?

There are definitely some parties happening in Dresden. Check http://www.sachsentrance.de for information about the whole area (Dresden, Leipzig, Chemnitz). The crew I'm most familiar with is Insulin Productions, which has parties fairly regularly. There is also a club there (Treibwerk) that has psy parties often as well. Merryspace ( www.merryspace.de ) is a good person to ask about all things in Dresden - he posts here occasionally so I assume he will see this and answer more thoroughly.

Send me a message if you ever want to come party in Leipzig (~1 hour from Dresden by train) since there are a lot of parties happening here as well.

I´m living in Berlin now but I organize some psy parties in Dresden together with my friends there. It´s not so often to find a good party. Sometimes some illegal sponatneous parties will happen ... ask for it in the "Hol Fix" lateshop in Neustadt - Rothenburger Str. 41. There willbe Harry - give greeting from Merry:) - and you will get all info about parties there....
