Coming to St. Petersburg....

Hey all.
I'm going on a small trip to Russia from the End of June to about the 10th of July.
I'll be spending most of my time in St. Petersburg....
I was invited on this (free) trip by my mother (ha ha, but I would never pass up the chance for a free trip to my birth-country, especially during "white nights"), and am looking to have some fun while I'm there.
So, if any russian folks from Ol' Leningrad can give me some info on the the local trance-related culture, I would be grateful! I would love to party in St. Petersburg.....Hopefully, I would be able to get my hands on some Natural and perhaps some Chemical enhancements, but that's a different topic....

I was supposed to be coming also on MAy 1st for 3 months ! work stuff...
but I missed my chance since im in madrid anyway.
i might be coming though in the next months. So I´ll be glad to know if there is any scene in st petersburg.
I´m not into all the crazy russian style though. Maybe chillout events ?

Hey Guys,
I spent four months in St. Petersburg from September to January at the beginning of this year studying Russian. I have to say that in terms of a psy scene Petersburg is distinctly lacking as no regular events are hosted and no party promotion teams are based there, all the infrequent events do crop up - line ups usually comprised of Russian djs or acts usually playing that unbelievably twisted style the Russians are famous for (or notorious as the case may be). I find this style slightly to full on and aggressive so never really found myself attending. On the other hand Moscow has a very good scene with weekly events that often have solid international line ups. From Petersburg there are trains all day and night (ranging from six to eight hrs journey time) that are relatively cheap. At this time of year Russia has good outdoor parties, especially with the long hrs of daylight. If you go to one of these though it's convenient to have someone with you who speaks a bit of Russian - it is definitely an experience.
