I would like to know the difference between the Waldorf Q/mico-Q's Comb filter and the Supernova II's Comb filter effect.
I wonder I can set the filter tracking in the Waldorfs or even modulates the Comb filter from some LFO, ENV Generator or anything else, what it doesn't possible in the Supernova II. In this case, is a complex effect without any possibility for frequency/boost modulation or filter tracking in the keyboard. The Comb filter effect in the SNII has some parameters in order to set the phase between the 2 comb filters, distance between them etc., but it doesn't make the same thing like to make modulation from the Q/Micro-Q's matrix modulation. So, someone can help me? |

i havent got a Q.,
but if this is a filter type (not an effect) then there is a very big chance that you can modulate it just like any other filter type.,
it's the same thing as the effect but if it's in the filter section people will expect to have controll over the parameters.,
when it's an effect then usually it's only there as a bonus (most synths treat effects as a bonus) so you don get conttroll over it., ether you like the bonus or not.,

ZilDoggo, I think we have the same point about this question.
The bottom line is:
If the Comb filter "is a filter" - like in the Waldorfs, so you can modulate it and make filter tracking.
But if the Comb filter "is a effect" - like in the SNII, you can only set its parameters in static mode (without any modulation).
I've just read the Waldorf Q manual and compared to SNII and I got it. |

i thought you asked why you can control one but not the other., ?
anyway.,
you got it
so.,
