what do you think about collaborations? i love them, sometimes they are a tease and come out with one time project tracks... or at most 2 and then you never get something out the combination again i think its great that artists get to work with others and especially like it when they come up with cool names for the projects...
some collaborations i liked that i dont expect anything from are:
growlmonizer - hallucinogen+gms.
infernal machine - hallucinogen+dick trevor.
beast- hallucinogen +doof.
fly agaric - infected mush + hallucinogen.
synergy- cpu+absolum (i hope more is on the way)
eskimotor - eskimo +neuromotor.
paranomad attack - paranormal attack + nomad.
well i guess that's that... maybe sometimes they just do it as a gimmick to sell a cd... sometimes you get a profound connection and it a shame it doesnt continue for reasons of labels, contracts and jurisdiction.

It seems the really good ones never go far enough. You mentioned probably one of the best ever - The Beast (which was Hallucinogen + Process, BTW ). One single and nothing more. Twisted had listed a Beast album on their site for some time, but as with most Twisted projects it never happened. I would have loved to hear much more from them.
Another of my favorites is Biscaya (Filip from Ticon + Marcus from Son Kite). They had one track on the Dragonfly Touchin' Bass compilation, but nothing more.
Sometimes I am tempted to kidnap the members of these collaborations, and lock them in a basement full of gear.

"Pacemaker" was a killer!
MidiMiliz & EarGear = ANOMALIE was also a cool project |

I personally would like cross genres collaboration.
I mean how much interest can rise from GMS Vs Alien Project and collabs like that?
Just think of something like Ticon Vs Absolum or Infected Mushroom Vs X-Dream.
I just can't understand why stuff like that never happen. I really expect Deedrah's remix to the new Son Kite track. This should be interesting enough.

I'm excited about this Hallucinogen/Eat Static collaboration that has been talked about.
I'd like to hear a collaboration between Shulman and Sesto Sento! 'Slow Move' from The Bright Side shows that the Sestos have much talent in the downtempo/chillout department too. My two favorite Israeli artists, I don't see how it wouldn't be absolutely killer. |
