This is not bass arpeggio, I think he wrote it note for note. I see what you mean now. A lot of the "big acts" do this when they change the sequence of the song, usually on the 32nd bar. It does have something of the 80ies in there, the old old Goa...

4x4 Up and down in the midi mello track , Thats create space , Can be 8x8 Or more (Up to you) , That will be much better for sure - More cinematic feeling , Stream , Open your track alot - Transitive verb : Your bass , (Improve - The massive , The deepness , The drive , The harmony , The sound) .

Good ! Didt thought about , But sure can be true , Loved this idea .. ! .
The firts tracks of great 'Darshan' , Sandman (Itsik levi) And even 'Barkan' work that way , Wuuu - Thats a bad example haha (But imo the last one took it to much to the childish way , Thats show that each one can take it to his own side/Direction/Style - Can be good , Can be bad) . But one thing we cant argument (Seems is a fact) .. When this process done you get/Have an "Nervous" bass for sure .

P.s - But friend you should know that when ill bring it into my style all will be much different (Less happy + Dark) - Mean : with all those 100 hh loops , Percussions , Leads , Fx's , Atmos and those will take it to another stratum/dimentions and experience (Will not sound goa anymore hehe , Will be modern - Now its realy minimal sounds in so may bring you back those far memorys - Its an 5 minutes work) .

Many times it can be cool to have a Ascending or Descending bass that counter the melodyline.
ascending
C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C
descending
C-B-A-G-F-E-D-C
Instead of just having the bass following the melody slavish

Just yesterday I was playing around using ABL2 to sequence 2 different guitar synths. I was just playing around making 303 lines in my live setup, which has a guitar rack, and I wondered if ABL could output MIDI as well as audio, which it can, and for some reason an acoustic guitar sound layered with 303s struck me as potentially enjoyable, which it was. I don't usually use a lot of MIDI sequencing plugs in studio work, I mostly work in Renoise which has great workflow and sample manipulation but doesn't allow internal MIDI routing, and I dont really need MIDI when I can make sequences with Renoise's pattern editor entirely from the QWERTY keyboard with the keyboaard shortcuts that now are part of my DNA and make the workflow in Renoise so much more efficient than clicking squares in a piano roll so the routing restriction has never been an issue, but with my live setup in Ableton Ive been tryingto build a good set of racks with as many different sounds, run by as many different sequencer plugins as I can dig up, more sounds mean more variety, more sequencers mean less piano roll work, which means less mouse clicking. The potential for layering multiple insturments with a single sequencer is intriguing, the sequencer also being a 303 emulation is somewhat like a pornstar cooking me a steak while pouring a nice glass of Duvel, but synths. . |
