Ok ..
70% of the all trance track i have ever heard go like the 'Normal bass' i have put in there
1 . --- --- --- ---
2 . -- - -- - -- - --
3 . - - - - - - - - - -
4 . And even --------
--------
And many others like this . (Usualy static bassline - This kind of bass is not "Directly" connect to your track , He is there , Even dominant but not realy go with 'Whats go in' Its just there because you have decide that you liket this bass and he must be in there , Sure its follow the track but not will be "Attached" to - And this bass got his own show) .
(More in Techno/TechTrance/Dark/Prog .
20% Is an 'Dancing bassline' (Could hear alot in the Fullon) Mean more jupmy bassline (More dynamic bassline) . - Bring some push and stream .
- -
--- --- --- ---
- -
I want to be in the 10% !
Zork ..
Its totaly inverse , Pom touch the point so may he know what i mean .
Simple ..
Write mello and put the bass on the same note pattern .
I think when you work that way all sound more live , Natural and here And also bring space (If you do right)
And open your bass alot (You will hear the differences before effects and those)

Fucking confusing as hell.
I am getting frustrated reading this.
You want a special bassline and for your bassline and mellow pad sounds to interact and sound nice together?
A so-called "10%" bassline meaning more special than a lot of the stuff you hear in standard darkpsy/fullon/prog?
Your explanation of what you mean when you say 'write mello and put the bass on the same note pattern' is completely shit - most likely a language issue but still...
You have a MIDI clip. It is a standard fullon KxxxKxxx where K - kick and x = bass note.
Are you saying that you trigger your pad sound with the same MIDI clip?
I don't see how this brings space or opens up your bass.

I agree with most people here, it's a bit confusing, do you mean you made a new bass pattern to run along with your melodies, pads and such?
I mean i get the static bassline thing, it's when the bass is:
k---k---k---k---
It's like the bass is only there because the tune is supposed to have a bass.
I also get the your fullon/melodic bassline thought, it's like the bassline pumps the tune to make groovier, like:
(Ignore the dots, it's just to make the up note fit with the down ones.
.............-
k - k --k- -k --
What you're saying, judging by your words is that you've found a new way to make your bassline feel more connected to the general track atmosphere of the track. And having that pattern running along and with the same note changes of your melodies.. I guess..

And every 8 or 16 bass is change (1x1) with the melody (When she can be
change too but bass will keep and run with her till the end of the track) .

so basically your bass follows whatever notes you have used with your pad.
Thats what it sounds like anyway.
Almost making your bass a second mellody.

No .. Just the same rhythm and stream .
Melody is a melody and a bass is a bass , Also i use for the bass a bass vst and for the mello kind of piano what ever it is - Can be evry thing . The bass will hear/Be a bass , The mello be a mello and both will run on the same pattern . The bass will be more full and "Energic" and warm because he is "Part of the story" .

I will often use the bass pattern as a starting point for percussion or leads, it does sound nice and lend extra groove sometimes when I don't know exactly what I want and need a helping hand.
Is this what you mean?

Lots of times we sit and think .. 'What bass will made for our new track ?' , Here you get the bonus , You can start immediately (And first thing) with what real go's in , The mello - The music (Let it be 'WET' & 'FAT') , Your bass already automatic in ! (All you need its let it be by double it) .

please post screenshot of midifiles used..to write a bass "melody" then use the same notes for another synth sounds..doesn`t sound too special for me actualy..is that what you mean?
when you say its totally inverse..so you write a melody with your "mellow pad sound" then you copy the midi file and drag it down to your basssynth? smth like that just use the bass one or two octaves down?
i usually do not only write rolling melodys so those patterns wont make much sense for a psy bass..
or is it just for this mellow kind of sound wich is then written like that only in order to work with the bass?
principal of layering sounds isn`t it? -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.- |
