13 Years im writing and producing music (Bass -The usual one - Mean 1-2-3-4-5 note play in (Up and down) in the track sure , But more like --- --- Or - - - - Or - -- - -- Or any other composition , Thats no metter - I mean a bass with his 'Own life' in your story ) But lately i find somthing new (Jump Kwntit For me) .
I start write mello (Korg for example or any other) , Lets say 4 notes (Up and down) But 1x1 (To bring space feeling in - Important for the process) Then run with your music (What you want to creat ..) Then open a bass vst , Take the midi (Mello pad , Atmos or what ever) Now .. Run your bass on .

i think he means starting with the synths sounds and write the tunes like a ambiant one, then you add the bass , but why not adding the beat in the end too? |

Basic harmony ain't it? It also works if the relationship pad & leads / bassline is in fifths or thirds. |
