Has anyone tried out the new keyboards from CME ? It's supposed to be a metal-cased midi controller, with very good quality. But, in Greece no one's got it for sale, and it would be good if anyone has something to share before ordering (How the knobs behave, the keys feel etc.)

I have tried the 49-key version a little at a music store, and I liked it. But I can't decide whether to buy the CME or the Edirol PCRM-50 which is also really nice and at approximately the same price.
The transport buttons is a nice feature (start/stop/rec etc.) and so is the metal case that gives it a sturdy feel. The knobs feel really good, like the knobs on a Virus synth. The main disadvantage as I can see is that it takes up much space.
The keys feel okay. Not as good as the Edirol (the PCRM has better keys than PCR which is roughly the same as CME) but okay to work with. The transport buttons feel really plastic, like a computer keyboard from the 80's.
I think this is a good purchase and I might buy one this week. |
