Club price difference – North and Center

I’m continuing here with Huga’s thread about party prices, but this time in a club.
Please explain me why there’s such a price difference between parties in Haifa and parties in Tel-Aviv.
In Haifa (Flame and Luna) charge 10 NIS, maximum 20 NIS, and they bring artists (MOS, Necmi etc.), while in Tel-Aviv on the same day, u usually pay between 50-80 NIS, and not always u get to listen to artists from abroad. Here I’m talking about the Thursday nights. Why? The center people are richer than the northern people?
I need to add that the Domo Rec. maybe changing it, with their idea of a member card – u pay 50 NIS and u get to hear Peter Digital + discounts on c.ds.

But still, this is frustrating!

Basics economics and a few differences RG.

Well, both Flame and Luna are dance bars and not clubs. They are small and are (AFAIK) the only dance bars in Haifa.
As an ex-haifian, I can tell you that keeping a club / dance-bar alive in Haifa is harder than in Tel Aviv. Not too many ppl go dancing and clubbing and they need to stragle to survive.
The prices in 'clubs' in Haifa area are much closer to the prices in Tel Aviv, but still cheaper.

The demand for music and clubbing in Haifa is not as big as in Tel Aviv, and so the prices are lower, and there are less options to choose from.

Why do you think Haifians come to Tel Aviv to party???

You think paying more is frustrating?
Think how frustrating it is to have no where normal to go to party....

Well Karnaf, you right except one thing, Luna is not small at all- it can handle 500 people and if we open the big hall like tomorrow it comes up to 900 people !
One more reason for this difference is the attitude of people in Haifa and TA. Haifa people don't like to pay entrance fee, maybe they think they get fucked if they do so, they don't care to spend all of their money on the Bar but at least they can see what they buy. If it's entrance money they go like: "Why should I pay for getting inside a club?! In Haifa?! If I have to pay for a club I'll go to TA, where there are real parties".

The funny thing is that the people are actually right ! Most of the parties (that used to be) in this area were not well product so the crowed shaped his mind like that.

This is why we started with this cheap line of good parties, just to help everybody to remember that it can be done even here in Haifa. We try to serve the crowed at the best way and even with the low budget we keep on bringing the best artists (next week S-RANGE !!!) from Israel and aboard.           Express your digital emotions

I’m thinking of coming to the Luna next week.

See, I like the way you Haifa organizers think. I mean in Tel-Aviv if I pay 80 NIS at the entrance, I wouldn’t buy ANYTHING from the bar, and this is in case I do attend that party, cause 80 NIS is waaaaaaayyyyy too much.
But if I pay 30 NIS or 50 NIS, it would attract me much more to come and I’m sure I would spend money at the bar.

And you know what? I’m willing to pay the fuel to get to Haifa and listen to some good music, drink a bit, enjoy myself and I won’t feel I’m being robbed.

I must add to Yaniv's accurate words, we are basicly from haifa and we love this city but you can't help it the haifa mentality is that you dont pay entrance because anyway everybody knows everybody so you get in for free.
Also in haifa the club owners (RONEN@LUNA & ZAFRIR@FLAME) prefer to let the orgensers deal with all the entrance stuff and they get their share from the bar.
The main thing is, again, the promotion of music and with that I hold their hands and help the mas much as possible to maintain the small quality scene we have here.
I personally don't make venues in Haifa, did my share for the last 10 years.

What do you think costs more> Renting a place in central Telaviv, or renting a place in central Haifa?
Telaviv is more expensive, therefor entrence fee's are higher... although i believe that that's only a partial explanation...           MiniMAL cabron...

Luna is divided to 3 rooms- The Bar, Balcony and the new hall- all together can handle many people. It still keeps the worm feeling like a family house with 3 rooms           Express your digital emotions
