Clicks and Pops when cutting up audio in Cubase

Whenever I cut up a soundclip in Cubase with the scissor tool there are always little clicks and pops either when the sound begins or ends and the only way I can figure out how to get rid of them is by fading them in/out...but when I want it to be a really sharp glitchy cut, it doesnt work at all...can someone help me solve this?
I have an Emu 0404 and I'm using Asio4All...Cubase SX3.
Thanks
Elad

fade in/out 0.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.2 to get rid of it and keep sharp sound.. or use the usefull snap to zero option           www.sattelbattle.com

That helped a little bit but I'm still getting clicks and pops, what is the snap to zero option?

snap to zero should work for cutting the audio only at a point where the amplitude is 0, then you have no clicks and pops (sorry don´t know exactly where u can find it...)
if it deosn´t work you have to do it manually, look at the wafveform and cut at a point where amplitude is nearly zero...
but i think it´s impossible to hear a very short crossfade...           www.myspace.com/antagonmedia

yeah you basically need to combine the concept that antagon and sattel mentioned.

When you look at a wave form in a sound editor, the oscillation of the soundwave rises and falls up and down over the line in the center. That is the 'zero crossing'. When you tell an editor to fade someting in and out, you are telling it to have the wave start and end exactly at that center point, not at the top or bottom. When you suddenly start abruptly playing a sound from a random point in the wave crest (something that cannot exist in a natural sound) it pops when it suddenly tries to make up the difference.

Zoom in on the sound in Cubase, and you will see the little blue triangles appear on the upper left (start) and upper right (end) of the sound. Pull on those towards the middle of the sound, and you will see cubase auto-fade the sound for you.

You can select a whole bunch of different sounds, just grab one, and it will fade them all for you.

You can leave it like that, or afterwards right-click and select "bounce selection" from the audio process menu to make the fade permanent. You basically need to do this on any sound that you cut to make it clean.

People don't notice this at first since other sounds often mask the popping and clicking.

you can also use the snape to zero others mentioned,go in preference, edition and audio turn on the feature, now when you resize a sound the start and end of it will be only on a zero croosing point the nearest the quantification you selected, the problem with fades it s you can slower the attack.

actually it`s better to do it manually. because the automatic "snap to zero crossing point" isnt totaly accurate atleast from what i`ve seen . it`s ok most of the time but sometimes it isnt.
so better just do it manually. it`s very simple.
