I stumbled across this guy by accident through either Headphone Commute of Fluid Audio. I think his work is just breathtakingly beautiful. If you like melancholy piano tones with a heavy dose of reverb and/or buried under other gently ebbing atmospherics, you'll want to check this out. Definitely music for introspective moments. Maybe for wistful remembrance of younger days in the sunshine. Some songs have a feel of The Sight Below or Yagya (minus 4/4 beat). This is supposed to only be up for a limited time, so def check it out while you can.

Ah! Must have been Fluid! Thank you for posting about "Through the Annular", Daniel. I hadn't known about it. Ordered a copy of the CD without even bothering with samples. On a side note, I just wanted to express my appreciation the FR blog. I've discovered some fantastic music there that I probably would not have heard elsewhere. |

Nice work Tech Monkey... will definitely check the bandcamp stuff out.
I just ordered the cd... remember reading about it on Fluid a few weeks ago and investigated it, but then didn't get it cos i thought i saw that they were going to release it in digital format. anyway, i can't find anything to that effect, so just bought cd.
can't wait to download the bandcamp tracks tonight!
btw, the next release on the same label is Anna Rose - Silver Lines (http://www.fluid-radio.co.uk/2010/02/anna-rose-silver-lines/ )
She also has a few free tracks on bandcamp, if you feel like some more lovely tunes: http://dedicatedrecords.bandcamp.com/album/anna-rose-something-for-a-rainy-day-ep
(looks like there's other releases on the Dedicated Records label that might be good too... ) I love when one thing leads to another a more new sublime music is discovered.... absolutely makes my day. what did we ever do without the internet?!?

My "Through the Annular" cd arrived yesterday. A little bit upset tho cos i managed to savage the cover whilst trying to get it open... now the flap is all torn up. doh!
I hope the Anna Rose one doesn't come in the same format with the stuck down flap.
But lovely music, so really i am happy cos that's the main thing. And to be honest, the covergets filed away and will rarely be used anyway. |

Had the same complaint when mine came in. Decided to just cut the top of the flap. Though that foldover silver wrap is a neat idea that does look very nice and hides the cut flap. Great CD. As you said, the music is the main thing! |

Yeah, the silver wrap is good.
I think it would've been better if the flap of the cd cover didn't have adhesive on it. Would have been easier to cut thorugh the sticker.
*reminds me of one of my first Somnia cds i got, i managed to savage that as well trying to get the wax seal to lift off...*
ah well.... |
