When you type in the box in "Quick Reply" and press Escape, the text disappears and a prompt comes up saying "Your post will be cleared" (or something to that effect)...Press Ok or Cancel...
but the text is already cleared irrespective of whether you press ok or cancel
  Interviewer: "So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?"
Frank Zappa: "You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?" |

The behaviour you described is true only for Internet Explorer....
