how do ya'll get your samples from, say, youtube?
i've got a universal recorded that gets everything that comes off the sound card, but i can't get any quality off of it....
any suggestions? |

What kind of sound card do you have?
I own a Presonus fire box and with that all I have to do is rout my main outs signal back into the ins onthe sound card, set my internal mixer that comes with the fire box and record on say Wave lab...
Is it a setting in your recording device for quality export that your not setting?
You want to save at 24 or 32bit if you can.
Also I am pritty sure that Youtube is a compressed format so its not going to be quality but workable.

anyway i would suggest to get an youtube to mp3 converter..alot of free ones out there...and if thequality sucks, either just use another video or try to clean it with tools like denoiser plugs...f.e. sounndsoap works quite good, or this izotope rx i think...
just think about how much work is the sample actualy worth..imo

Don't know about you tube low quality sound...
But I get a lot of stuff from "http://www.freesound.org".
Good quality wav,aif and flac samples some in 24bit. |
