There are tracks that represented a point in time For me personally, I played my goa vynils on 1999 til the last groove perished And in a way I was glad it happened. The music had to die and I could not live in the past for all that time. Now I love the music in the moment. i might stretch some music for 5 or 6 months, but there so classics of the present coming out all the time, I fell constantly mind blown
To answer you Q in the future there will be more classics of the present. As if we live constantly in the moment and futre, past and present melt in eternity |

Well... There are a lot of releases that made trance history.
When Talamasca apeared with "Musica Divinorum" he changed the scene. There were not many Full on supporters, almost none. In fact, there was no full on at that time.
Also Atmos with the "Headcleaner" made a revolution.
Those two, along with :
Cosma - Non stop
Logic Bomb - Headware
Delta - Schizoeffective
are the modern history of trance. Still, there are a lot of albums released latelly (well not THAT latelly) from the likes of Antix, Freq, Space buddha that also made a huge impact. Butd for the younger generation of trance-heads I think that the 5 mentioned made the boost that was needed.

The Misted Muppets-"from the legend" this is an album for next jilted generation....

Think i'd like to add another one to my list - just outside the 1 year cut-off but deserves a mention.
2nd Brigade by Atmos
Not much to say about this one. Just a top-notch progressive album with some great tracks - like 'Scent of a Tunnel', 'Transmission in Vain' and my favourite 'KNS' (great melody).

May as well add this one...
THE IMMACULATE PERCEPTION by NYSTAGMUS
I can't be arsed writing any more about this album other than i thought it was excellent. Not sure if it will be seen as a classic but it makes for a damn good listen.
If you want to know my full opinion you can read it here (and on the next page):

... and feel free to add your own!

I have a feeling my future classics from the last year are those I haven't yet purchased (Entheogenic, Tripswitch, Cell for example) or forthcoming releases (Ott, Capsula and maybe even Michele Adamson - just how good are the samples??!!).
So far then, Shpongle Nothing Lasts.... I know many of you won't agree but it sounded good to my ears and closes a chapter in what has already become a classic era in my musical life.

Want to add something a bit different...
THE UNDERSTANDING by ROYKSOPP
I wasn't sure about adding this album to this thread but seeing as the forum also covers mainstream chillout and that this has already been ‘reviewed’ on the chillout section, i thought what the hell
I was really unsure about this album when i first heard it (with it being so different to ‘Melody AM’) but it's one hell of a grower! You really have to give it time - a quick listen just doesn't do it justice. In fact i think i've listened to it more now in just the past few months than i have their first album.
A real eclectic selection of tracks from straight pop ('49%')... through mainstream trance (the excellent 'Only this Moment')... to old-fashioned Tangerine-Dream-esque eletronica (the equally excellent 'Alpha Male'). It even has psychedelic influences on a few of the tracks (the latter part of 'Circuit Breaker' is a good example). There isn’t really a single track on it that i haven't come to like. Still, i’m guessing that there will be people that wont like this album at all but that’s just a matter of taste. Admittedly, some of the tracks aren’t my style of music but as a whole the album is very well done and the production is spot on.
This is a classic in my book... especially considering the brave step that Royksopp have taken in attempting to create something different from their monumental first album. They deserve props for that at least.

COROLLE by KHETZAL (2005) SUNTRIP RECORDS
I honestly thought that the old Goa sound was dead and buried but this really changed my mind! I now think all that it needed was the kiss of life and this album really did the job! Melodic, psychedelic, hypnotic and brilliant!
The main reason i chose to add this album to this thread is that it actually sounds like it was released 10 years ago but yet still sounds great... so i don’t see another 10 years making any difference.
More of this kinda thing... and don't forget those great melodies!
...
Anyway, it's been 6 months since anyone posted in this thread and there has been lots of new stuff released in that time, so come on... be a psytrance prophet!
What is your latest tip for a sure-fire future classic?
