Are JP-8080, Virus B and Nord Lead 2 still viable synths for Psy/chill? And why do you think they are?

I was just thinking in terms of "vs software", software sounds pretty amazing these days, I'm thinking about getting all 3 of them just to check them out. I've currently gone from using ONLY analog hardware to software only, and now i want to try out some VA's

Well, they are hardware digital synths in a box outside your computer, that sound as good the best software digital synths, inside your computer. They just have a different character.

Which analog synths did you have?

going from crack to booze will not make you happier nor higher mate

if you want workflow enhancements stay inside the box. soundwise everything that you will try after having those analogue babys will sound less "right" and ballsy anyway..           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

The Nord is and will stay to be a great synth for Psy.
As it got "rubbery filters", great for Psy squelches and stuff.

And I'm SO glad I did! Love it! Hardware is to hyped imo. I might consider buying a modular synth just for the fun of toying around with it.

yes, that's my point. fun! for me it's loads more fun to tweak a synth. i would've kept atleast one of the synths you mentioned above.
f.e. the voyager and added a vx-351 to it to have that modular twang going on.
but hey, luckily i can do what i want and you can do what you want
