hey dere.... now i am in a bit of jiffy.... i realise while working on my mix.... esp when dere r a lot of sounds merging into each other i realise some sounds are lost/getting overshadowed by other sounds ... so is it due to the freq's clashing? imm not sure what could i possibly do to avoid tht?

i noe eq and compression could help... but despite tht i am strugglin to get things right.... some info on this would be gr8!!

There are so many things that can cause the problem that you are talking about that without more concrete examples...it's hard to help.

you can pan the sounds, change volume, EQ...

A lot of people recommend high passing all channels that are not Bass/Kick channels to un-muddy the low end...

Don't use compression as anything but polish and shine - if your sound sources are clashing, compression will most likely only make it worse - its more for gelling together things that are already pretty similar (at least thats my understanding of it, I could be wrong)

could try band-passing elements that are clashing, so that they occupy a more narrow part of the spectrum

Write your leads in different octaves, that way they don't occupy the same critical bands and thus masking wont occur. (iirc )

01. play with the volume levels for each sound / channel playing them together not alone
02. eq them not individually but by playing them with the other sounds that are clashing
03. Hi-pass certain sounds again playing all sounds together looping them till u achieve the desired sound
04. fade stereo / shift stereo / panning can also help
05. increase the res and cut on certain sounds that clash and have a heavy low end
06. use gating for some sounds that have a long tail and you dont really need the tail or just chop the tail if not required

as willsanquil mentioned avoid using compression
