Hey everyone!

How do you guys make chord progressions?
Which ones do you use? Do you guys just go after how it sounds or do you follow scales? Anyone that knows a good page for different combinations of chord progressions?
Do you know any chord progressions that are better than others for psy/psychill?

Alot of questions
Just write anything you like about chord progressions!

Cheers!

Well once you find out how they work you just use whatever chord u want... just learn the function of each chord and experiment, you can start with classic super overused I-IV-V then build whatever you want.

Or google, there are tons of articles on this.

hi kylistar . hi everyone

I think the chord progression its a matter of taste and feeling... you don´t have a specific chord progression for psy and chill ... for example , musical speaking if you do your progression down your sound gonna be more melancholic and dark .

in my case i like to put equilibrium in my chords for example (first)- natural (second) -minor (third)- natural (four)- major , but don´t need to be like that, music is no rules
just play and go whit the flow

nice topic btw .

cheers !

in my opinion is:

sit in front of your PC, connect your keyboard, grab a notebook for notes, put a preset piano, and improvise!

make note of the chord sequences that you like!
so things will flow naturally!

cheers!           -

Yeah, I have used the most easiest chord progressions now and I feel like I wanna do more advanced and longer progressions.

the page elad wrote was awesome, I can just sit and press on the chords after each other and listen to how they sound together.

How long chord progressions do you guys use in a song?

I have tried some 8 chord progressions but I'm not really getting what i want yet. guess its just to keep trying

Thanks alot for the help everyone and feel free to keep it comming

Cheers!

Yup. Go with what you like, there's no point trying to stick to formulas if you want to make something different.
Try some different sounding chords too like diminished, m7, sus2 & sus4 rather than just using plain major or minor            http://soundcloud.com/meat-battery/
