Chopper with step sequencer

Is there any vst plug ins like chopper, but with a built in step sequrncer, so that I can have the gaps going to a certain rythm. Like for example yahel did something like this in his last alboum with a voice. He probably did it some other way, but this way would be a lot easier to do this kind of effects. Or any other way to do this.

doesn't really have a pattern... but u can have the random option which is nice...
and of course it's easier to just use a gater as nectarious said and we all use it. Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

You can't do it on SX or Logic, but you can do it in Reason and in Pro Tools.
Pro tools is very easy but because i don't have one near me and because 95% don't owe one i'll recommend you to check out my post here:

Also there's a trick in SX that sounds close to the effect and i'll post it as soon as my mind celars up

vst i i dont know, but i would take a look at reasons matrix pattern sequencer ( u can route it on e.g. the maelstrom, which is very kewlio anyways. very easy to use...

Anakoluth, it's MIDI Gate. I think 
UIU - You can automate the depth & sync parameters of the chopper. That's what I do.

how about just cutting parts out of the sequence excactly the way you want(volume)?, it may take more time but it will be the way you want it to be. |

I cut vocals `n stuff myself with the cubase audio editor. it seems like hard work but the results can be just fine..

Ok i was wrong but i'm 100% sure you can't key trigger in cubase as you do it with Hardware Noise Gate.
I'll be glad to hear how you trigger an audio signal real time with MIDI/Audio input
