Automation on the chopper.
Just modify it's frequency, strenghth, etc on the fly.
When thinking on it, using the Chopper for this task could give much a lot better results than the normal gate/volume technique used cause it also works on the panning - which then would be synced with the breaks in sound.

you need a Midi Gate (U got one in Cubase SX)
U put it as a plug on the channel and then u open it as an Instrument On the arrange screen.
Every step you mark will open the channel for signals. Enjoy mate!!!

Can U be more specific???
I want to make thisd kind of thing with Delay Lama for example...
What i need to do to have this kind of volume automation??
I opened Delay as vst. Put the Midi gate as plugin on Delay Lama Audio CHanell. Then as U said I opened other track, and coneected with the midi gate. OK.
But I can´t understand how it works... if I solo Delay lama, nothing happens... When I unmute Midi Gate track, I only can listen to Delay Lama if I put some notes on it... But I can´t make the gate effect...
??????

Just put MIDI Gate in as insert on your vsti/audio track, go to the inspector in SX (where you set your midi i/o's), make a new midi track, route MIDI gate to the output. Program a rhythm with MIDI notes, and adjust the UI of MIDI Gate to your perferred settings. Ussually all 'knobs' we be down to get that chop feel. |

When it comes to gating in SX I typically find myself just adjusting the volume automation control in another midi track so I can reuse the separate midi part. If I'm lazy well you know..
In Logic I have a much more fun way.
Take a MIDI track and put some notes on it wherever length of the notes matter. Now create a new transformer. Convert all note data into MIDI Control #7 and route the midi object into the transformer than from the transformer into any audio object, audio track, insturment or whatever. You can even route to multiple channels using the splitter.
The environment is cool. One of the things that makes it hard to drop Logic.
