Sometimes when I whoch TV or a Movie there are gr8 speeches/conversations/talks/words
that I would like to see in a track.
MATRIX RELOADED:
 "This is Zion and we are not afraid!"
(With Long&strong eco)
so which words you would like to be
sampled?
(I really like samples. they give good
atmosphere to a track).

When I'm watching DVD movies I always take note if I hear something useful. I write down where it is.
When the movie is over I run to the computer, put in the DVD and rip the sample. A guide to ripping can be found in the equipment section, search for it

This should be a sample from a track called "Crystal Happiness", about the difficulties in make a diffracting protein crystal for Crystallographic studies (X-ray diffraction).
I believe must people will think this track is about smoking Icy Crystal (methanphetamine) and becoming happy...
I just love samples.

There's a sample i took from Star Trek : Voyager and it goes like that:
a. Is something wrong?
b. Yes, terribly wrong
a. What?
b. Your Brain is, not on the file.
Sampled it and using it on the track i work on right now

there are TONS of nice possible-samples in every episode of the X-FILES (i'm a fan, u know  )
"they bury themselves and come out at night" (the x-files - the cocoon, spoken by the sexiest female voice ever, gillian anderson's ))
"heeeere is JOHNNY!" (stephen kings "the shining", spoken by jack nicholson)
"nothing is real, everythings allowed" (23, but the phrase is out of robert a. wilsons trilogy "illuminatus"
btw, always when i'm watching a movie, or listening to an audio play i have a sheet of paper and a pen besides me, to write time and text of the phrase i want

Site Breakers "Hash Fudge Dave" (Stay Up Forever Records) This one is probably my favourite sample in a track ever just because of how it's done. The track is at it's most kicking point and it stops for 4 beats and this girl sounding really confused says 'I don't understand' and it kicks off again into 303 messiness. I dunno, you probably have to hear it to appreciate it.
And I would love to hear Robert DeNiro From Carlito's Way "You think you're big time? You're gonna fuckin' die, big time" in a track, although not a trance one. Somehow it doesn't seem to fit the mood  "One nation under a groove". |
