i havent heard of any chillout artist from japan..........
other than that,
there is loadsa killer fullon happening.
what about ambient?
are there any recordf labels n artist.
please post.

dakini records djs ( Makyo + more...well Makyo isnt Japanese but hell yeah )
and more I just dont remember.........
Ambient djs and artists obviously gets less opportunity for release in the world....
and here in Japan, no ambient chillout space that much like used to.......am I wrong? well I dont care anymore thou

All Comma records artists (Soft - Aoa - Tululus - tribal Circus) produce excellent music to chill (for me i believe also to dance - doesn't have to be 4/4 kick and psy-bassline to make me dance!!) and play amazing perfomances in the festivals and clubs in japan (as i've seen in videos and heard in their cds and lives on internet streams) - band music ,not just a guy hiding behind a computer pretending to play live... Also Eiji and the chofu dark ducks (and their label's Republic of Inch Keys releases) play quality music for home or chill stage listening , also Artman and all people at KIN recordings, and Ubar Tmar has been doing some wicked chill trax latelly .. Kiyoshi Izumi rightly mentioned and not to forget another very talented guy from the boredoms family - EDA . Dub Squad have been doing fantastic music for years - dub as the name implies... I'm sure there's plenty more but i can't think of right now... |

Tomio Tremmel of 'Sushi Club' fame is supposed to be half Japanese. Some of the best chillout there is.
Curious to hear about some more downtempo Japanese sounds... its been 3 years since the last reply on this thread. |
