great site.a little complicated design, but that is probably because i am not still used to it. and i hope it will live for a long time.
there are many others forums, such as some that are already mentioned here(psynews or twisted-which is really got twisted in real meaning of word) that provide some idiotic discussions because less respect and less culture.this subforum here is really good if you look some other chill based subforums or forums.maybe it is just because crew,or because we all have lot of similar taste , but this is an example how forum should look.yes, there are always many discussions here, but i didn`t saw that anybody has ever been rude with others opinion.we all respect each other.and that is very simple recepie for nice and productive disscusion.
cheers

There will ALWAYS be trolls, no matter what. It's how you deal with them that makes the difference.           blip.fm/itranscendence

I guess that the forum issue is only a reasonable thing.

but I personally think that the chillbase site works perfectly as another resource for the community to find out about new stuff in our fields of interest and to read reviews and recommendations and just to enjoy the cozy vibe of the chillbase.

I also hope that chillbase will help to attract more people into this genre just as it provides a place for us veterans chillers to expand our fields of interest and all kind of things that relates to them.

like chilbase said - " and so much more "

and also like chillbase said, almost every section of the website has comments,so you can discuss everything you want.

so I prefer it without a forum but I guess that in the end the majority will decide if indeed a vote will take place.

anyway, I wish all the best to this website and hopefully it will stay here for many years to come.

cheers !

Something I noticed with the comment sections. You should go with a gray black offset for each comment, either that or move the persons name inside the lines of their post.

Also the numbering for vote up vote down comments should be darker, and possibly turn green or red based on if the comment has been perceived overall positive or negative.           blip.fm/itranscendence

not too many, I agree.

but take a look on what was going on on the twisted forum lately for example - http://www.twistedmusic.com/forums/viewthread/3674/

take a look on how it started and to what it turned out eventually.

well actually the start of this thread was bad as well. if you can see what I mean,I speak as person that only buy music.

but who knows... maybe that person who started that thread will buy the album eventually.

I did a little change on the comments hope you'll like it more this way. I find it a lot more readable now. Thanks for the constructive critic btw! It's hard to get one these days.
Just keep 'em coming!

Just to let you know i have added galleries under your profiles. Now you can create your own categories and upload unlimited images in them, later on share them etc.

Would be nice if people could share pictures from festivals, parties, maybe their deco's etc.

Great initiative! The World of Downbeat and Chill need places like this.

One advice though. If you focus on a broad taste in chill and downbeat rather than the usual obvious popular psy-chill artists, and promote the non obvious releases too then you are guaranteed a wide an extensive fan base instead of a closed smaller fan base based on the same people from one or two forums.

Good luck

Great web site...

Really nice to see the work that has been put in to it so far and love the user interaction options.

Beat Agency makes a very good point!

A broad range of Ambient, Psy Chill, Experimental, Acoustic, Modern Classical, Electroacoustic and Abstract styles will be a real blessing to many people.

Keep up the great vibes,

Dan

Like this a lot!

Lots of great info on the site.

I like what the last two posts mentioned as well. There is so much great chill music out there and if you keep an open mind to alternative styles the site will grow and grow

I think they are already going for that inclusive model, even though the site is named 'chillbase'. But I third the sentiment.           blip.fm/itranscendence

Yes, we actually are aiming to all genres/subgenres somewhat connected to "chill".
Ambient, dub, psychill, experimental, acoustic, modern classical, electroacoustic... really doesn't matter as long as it is has that.. chill note.

What about chill artists who end up writing more prog-trance psy-trance albums. Solar Fields - Earthshine for example, or his EP On A Wind.           blip.fm/itranscendence

Well, what I'm saying is if an established chill artist starts experimenting with other styles, should we still cover it at chillbase.           blip.fm/itranscendence
