Hey friends,
I will go to India in 6 weeks. Do u have any hints for nice chill locations or "chill relevant" places?
I`ll go from Delhi to Rishikesh and then to some places @ the south end of the Himalaya (maybe Shimla ... have to see). Then maybe Varanasi, Pushkar or let`s see ... nothing relly planned right now ...

err.. wrong section to ask but ill try n help .. theres many `chill places` here but not as far as the music is concerned , most of these places are infested with teenage fresh outta army isras and their brand of happy fullon music .. but u may want to visit rishikesh (lots of real sadhus smoking pot) .. then move up further north and chk out `uttaranchal` (theres a `valley of flowers` there) very shanti place .. not much in the way of trance and parties tho .. and then u got dharamshala (the dalai lama lives there) but again , too many israelies and crowded kinda .. manali , kasol (ask about and theyl tell u more places in that region.. like kalga/pulga/kheerganga) ..again ..crowded places ..lotsa drugs and parties (season time) ..wich is may - september basically .. so ur in luck ,, it`d still be a bit cold but uncrowded .. most of the ppl are down south in goa / kerela till feb - march ..

so hope i helped, have a nice trip

Thanx sunshine superman,
yeah, Kodaikanal is a good idea. Heard lots of very interisting stuff about it. But so far in the south ... have to see, if possible ... only 6 weeks journey ... but Kodai would be great

i think its best to go off the beaten track... downsouth in kerala, kodai, humpy are awesome places to go, the backwaters are a nice place to stop over.... or you can head towards the north eastern regions of india which are scarcely travellled, the seven hill states known as the 'seven sisters'. you'll find beautiful places there... and very untouched as well... far from any madding crowd. places like goa, manali, rajasthan are the greatest attractions but theres always too many ppl there...           all roads lead Om

there's a place in Madhya Pradesh called 'Pachmarhi'
this time of the year it's like heaven it's more of a tropical forest area with a strong army presence if u can avoid the christmas holidays there's hardly neone there.
there are many small treks with waterfalls and caves
it's worth chkin

if intrested more pm me i'll send u more details and if u have lonely planet - India, nothing mopre to ask           the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!!

Cool, thanx for your help Dr. Boombastic & sure_smoke_alot:
I figured, that my journey most probably will be limited on the northern party of India. Seems to be enaugh cool places there.
For example: "Pachmarhi" in Madhya Pradesh sounds very promising, sure_ smoke_ alot
