New track for y'all. Any critique is welcomed and greatly appreciated. One thing I've noticed is that when looking at the waveform in Cuabase, I have some spikes here and there that are louder than my kick, which is the loudest part of the mix.
I know that compression should iron these short peaks out, but I never seem to have any luck with getting a smoother looking waveform. Is it more an issue of limiting rather than regular compression?
The sounds in question tend to fit into the mix nicely and if I dropped the levels of them to iron out the peaks, they tend to get lost.
Is it a necessity to always keep the kick as the loudest part at all times so that when looking at the waveform, the peaks are all generated by the kick?
Thanks!
