it is a nice experiment, but i fully doubt that this has any satisfactory playing properties (every piano player will agree)

such an approach was also tried out by siemens for automatic teller machines but was not successful.

but i'm sure there are applications where this technique is useful, e.g. project a keyboard for palm users, if the projection device can be made small enough.

I reckon finger speed could be measured fairly easily with an appropriate sensor - perhaps in the same way that MIDI grand pianos measure the speed of the keys. Sure it won't feel like a piano but as a portable MIDI input device it could be quite useful.

ok, its on chinese but who needs rubber keyboard? man, instead of progress we are returning back to the spectrum ZX, rubber keyboards are nothing new..
