you should mention the age also 
I'm 21 and I can hear up to 16.7 khz.
Didn't really know that only kids could hear that high.

Yes,i tested the sines in my studio Mackies hr 824 and could only listen to 18.8 khz and in some shitty multimedia speakers i listened till 21k ...
I guess pc speakers and shity headphones tend to create some kind of aliasing in the sound that is more audible,but less true !! |

with headphones beyer DT 990 i hear till 16.7 which turns me according to the test into a 20 year old.
on my blue sky mediadesk monitor-system its 14.9 this makes me thirty something.
had many years of loud volumes and was really a bit afraid about this. so i am relieved.
have to say that for example in last week boom! i used these flexible plastic earplugs that roadies use mine are called alpine and expensive like 25 euro. with them its on phones 15.8 and with the monitors 14.1. i have the feeling it protects the ears. also i get less tired in my head with them on the dancefloor.
thanx for this test. now i will surely always cut above 14 khz since i cannot hear above this on my monitors. |
