they might be right.....
considering the fact that the wavelength in air of a 100Hz sound wave is 3.44m
if you want to hear every "audible" frquency in the sound spectrum your optimum room for listening is no smaller than 20m long....
it all comes down to room modes...
we did this thing in my acoustic engineering class where we stood at the end wall of a sound chamber and you could hear a 34Hz sine wave from a signal generator....
then walking to the middle of the room , you hear nothing, due to phase cancellation....because at 34Hz was for that room room mode 1...
so basically when doing room acoustic design, your initial room dimensions are quite important, generally a ceiling of at least 3m is optimum......
obviously one can never egt a perfect room on its own and thats where diffusers and absorbers come in..... |

it looks like these bad dreams i have where the 50 screen long reason rack I made materializes itself then devoures my soul you cand run with tons of patch cords wrapped round your ankles AHHHHAAHAHAHAHAH! I agree with aeon give me my laptop and a small midi keyboard....... oh and also im gonna need my 500 unit built in rack with everything on at the same time you know it really gives me the chance to explore myself creatively when I have so many things rediculous.

thats not my world. i will always prefer small but powerfull handable studios with a good workflow.
but my respect is payed to the people which are able to realise a way of working with such "spaceship-commando-decks".

its the whole scenery!
i dunno if i could make a bare sound in this studio but it seems at least awesome for me!
