Hi there
just before party season is back we would like to announce that our new virtual cd shop is now open @ www.doofrecords.com
we are doing our best to give the lowest possible prices and make legal trance music more accessible.
( cds are sold 20-40% cheaper than in the stores.)
doof records is a do it yourself, low-tech, analog label so the design is a bit shaggy but we invested in the best on-line security system there is (fuckin' expensive)
we only sell cds we liked listening to and playing so if you enjoyed the music at our parties you'll probably like most of the stuff there. -----ACID----
the selection is small and good, and you can listen to some loops and get the feeling of each cd, these are played automatically in the background when entering the cd info link.

I must say the design is not impressive, and lets hope it won't be like trance-shop.com, low prices at start but now everything is high like in regular stores...

Yeah, it's great to see someone taking steps to try to improve things in our market. It is a shame that the records distributers are only interested in $$$ instead of the MUSICAL quality of the stuff they accept for distridution. It is unfortunate that this have happened like this and the time has come to start filtering out who matters and who is only here for the "game".
oh and btw, DROP THE DRUGS!! they only make things worse.... instead of expaning things, like our conscience for example.
The term Shanti does not fit well in the "music industry", everyone knows that, so why try to MAKE THINGS DIFERENT? there is only so much diference that is tolerated by the "general public"
(note that the terms in quotes refer ONLY to our scene)
Yaniv's article here @ isratrance points out a few things but I think the the irony and metaphores used to describe the people that should be buying the cd's is PREJUDICIAL for the whole scene.
When everyone decides to live the scene in the same way and live up to the same values, then there will be enough "market power" to make our underground scene healthy enough to survive..... in the underground.
Yaniv: About the 10.000 people, you are right, those are your numbers...... there are much more people listening to trance and you should include them also.

hi there trippers,
a month passed since i've posted this about our shop and i've got anough statistics to say that i don't understand this market.
how is it that we get about three times more orders from urope, japan and the US compared to israel? i mean for israelis our prices are a real bargain while for the others they are pretty normal so what's happening with you guys? are you afraid to use your credit card on the net, is it still too expensive?, do you prefer mp3s?, we are really trying to understand why people in israel don't buy the music we are so proud of creating and spraeding all over the world.

i didn't see any israeli trance there, and the collection is small, so you don't except a lot of israelis to buy there... put some israeli trance!
