looking 4 a soundcard with midi, <600 nis / 150 $.
...suggestions ?

you need audio also, not just the MIDI?
what are you looking for? Quality in Audio recording and playing also? what?
The cheapest midi card is the built in audio in every motherboard today

If you need only the midi, get the cheapest sound card there is... They all have midi in the shape of a joystick port.

MikeA: yeah i know, i think that s the way i ll go, but my friend has a very old sb ( --> '95 ) and there are some probs with driver s etc.
the new audigy...does it work well ? ...haven t found on the page if it has midi (...or joy-port). anyone knows ?

Audigy has Midi port but it's not that cheap card! It's something like 150$.
And i think it's 24/96.
My advice: get cheap Creative PCI128 for 30/40 $

u know, this card isn t 4 me (...i ve got a rme hammerfall...), and plz don t tell me that it s impossible to create music with a soundblaster...i think the most ppl here know that. and 4 shure the audigy, except the platinum, won t cost more than 150 $ (...in switzerland...).

if i ask about cards with midi-port, i need it. don t ask why i need it, like i ve written, it isnt 4 me, it s 4 a friend, but thnx anyway...i m sometimes tired/stoned too...

Well he only needs MIDI port...
And you can write music with PCI128.
Ask Erez Izen, he made great tunes with Impulse Tracker and worse Sound card.
But it's really offtopic.
And sorry for miscalculating the price of Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum is 200$. And 249$ for Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX
Which has external board. And it's a good card, not only for gamers (why gamer needs external board?).
