wouldn't you need two stereo outputs, one for the master and one for monitoring? Check out the ESI Maya44 USB. |

Numark stereo io and djio are alright (I own both) and very cheap. I would try them out before I commit to them, but they are very cheap. |

Does Echo make a USB card or just the PCMCIA IO card? Cuz it seems more modern notebooks dont even have PCMCIA anymore, at least when i was last at Best Buy all teh Asus' i was looking at had none, and only 3 USB....

I'm using an old laptop with a PCMCIA card so I snapped up an Echo Indigo DJ that I found on eBay. Cheap, compact, no extra wires or things to go wrong. The only downside is the gain... it's quiet as hell and makes internal mixing a bit frustrating when playing out.

The solution to that of course is to tweak the hardware mixer's trim Of course assuming there is a trim or channel gain control...
I dont imagine a gainer plugin in whatever program youre using would be any help and would likely just clip the output without helping the situation
Good to know though as Ive had an old lappy without a screen that ive considered using as a throwaway gig machine with an Echo card.
Im now in the market myself for an audio interface for dj and live set purposes, ideally with 4 audio channels and at least one midi channel but the midi isn't entirely necessary. Gonna check the NI mentioned, also looking at Presonus' cheaper interface (firebox? idk smth like that)
