government and police knows about it
they dont wanna kill the tourist industry hense will not cut this business down
all i have to say it is - make it legal so atleast indians make money for exporting it.
guess that is the only way to formalise regulations on the trade and reap the benefits of this growing industry in our own land.
its silly that we overlook a thousand crore business potential and let people from other countries make 90 percent of all profit from it.
make it legal.

its not easy for the goverment to legalize the substance ,,, its easier said than done ,,,
lots of pressure from foreign bodies like the UN and our local govt. makes it virtually impossible for cannabis to be legalized in india.
Its all brutal politics , im sure there are local politicians making a killing of this trade , and dont care about making an effort to legalize the substance when they can earn massive profits without any hassles.

if not atleast dicriminalize it
@dudi
bro most of the developed nations have atlest decriminaized marijuana as all the allegations have proven wrong
& as more n more studies are conducted (which are not funded by c.i.a) ppl. are begning to realise that it's less harmful then leagal toxics i.e. tobacco & alcohol.

man thats exactly what im trying to imply ,,,,
the politicians dont giv a flying fuck about legalizing the substance , when they can make twice as much with the illegal trade ,
Our country is extremely liberal compared to other nations , but its the administrative filth that i.e. the illiterate fucking politicians who have the care less attitude towards the country's welfare.The illegal drug trade is just a small issue , there so many other fucking issue's tht should be taken care of and sorted out before.
@sure_smoke_alot
decriminalizing the substance wont really make any difference in india.u will still be given a limit as to how much u can possess at one time , which wont be more than 50grams per person.Marijuana is virtually legal in india , as long as ur not peddling the plant and just smoking its all good.
im living in england at the moment where , cannabis is classified as a class c drugs ,, putting it in the same category as tranquilizers , steroids etc etc which makes the possesion illegal , but u dont get jailed for possesion.although it is virtually legal here also , i feel safer smoking in india than i do over here .
Anyways , the illegal trade is a serious issue , which shud be looked into carefully.the mafia's have the politicians as their puppets.some serious thought shud be given ,,,, otherwise we can kiss the charas future goodbye

well, do you mean to say that it is legal in india for me to harvest charas and smoke it off my own fields without peddling it?

i said virtually legal ,,,
and yes if you are discrete enough about it ,im sure no one is gonna bother you.
but what i mean by it being virtually legal is ,,, tht u can possess a certain amount , for personal smoke , and it wont be a jailable offence , ull be let go with a warning (im telling u this from my own personal experiences).It wayyy safer to smoke pot in india than it is in many other countries.Why do u think the north is flooded with foreigners ?? |

what crap .. this is just sensationalist reporting , everyone knows what goes on up there .. `drug trade` is such an ugly word .. i believe the term is `quasi legal` http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/quasi
what can anyone do if whole small indigenous communities depend on this shit for their survival , they know nothing but to grow pot .. as it said in the article , its hard for undermanned , underpaid narcotics and paramilitary teams to enforce the `law` up in that terrain , even if they do find charas fields , what can they do .. noone to prosecute , the land dosnt belong to anyone .. how many feilds can they burn ? theres thousands if not millions of wild charas feilds growing .. lol ..
what pisses me off a bit if indian peoples dependance on isra / italian hippies for their share of it .. so do the right thing next time ur up there .. dont buy from these stewpid hippies , trek , find ur own village dealer guy and enjoy !

If its done privately - theres hardly any chance that one would get busted.
In the North, there are lot of indian tourists as well and I feel that is one of the reasons that the khaks dont do much. and then theres also the mafia that controls these things, Either way.. most things here are virtually legal in india, Even if youre caught you can pay youre way out unlike other places. Here, Everybody wants a piece of the cake youre eating!

well technically you could carry a few grams (not sure exactly how much) for `personal consumption` and they cant do anything legally .. and who said its acceptable in hindu religion ? .. just try walking about with a big fat cone anywhere .. ull see how acceptable ..lol .. its completely diffrent when ur a `real` baba / sadhu .. nobody will bother them ,coz theyr not in the mainstream .
