Great initiative which I wish all the best. The world need more digital shops.
But it's interesting to see that the price is almost as high as on Beatport (mp3's)
Beatport =
£ 1.49 for new releases (forget the few £. 1.99 exclusive beatport tracks - thats a very stupid beatport idea)
£ 1.29 for general releases.
PsyMp3 = £ 1.25
Interesting since I have seen a lot of bitching about beatport's prices in here. Will you still buy on Psymp3 even though it's probably more expensive to buy a full CD there than on saikosounds? http://www.peopleagainstpeace.net/ |

One of the most common threads that runs through discussions about the current state of psy is that there are very few CDs that you wouls want *all* the tracks from - most CDs only have a few tracks that you may want - so its cheaper for most psy fans to do it on a track by track basis.
Interesting that this may take psy back to being like other dance genres in being track based rather than album based.. a (for example) techno producer aims to do good tracks on a regular basis - whereas currnetly psy producers have the added pressure of trying to fill a CD's worth of material - which is quite tall order. the shift to downloads will take things back to being track led... probably... |

Hmmm .. the crunch will come when they offer .wavs for download (As I understand they are looking into this right now)
What will the extra charge be? I doubt it will be as much as Beatport.
As I keep on pointing out its the .wav charge thats really unfair.
Europe (EMU) = 1 Euro
US + Rest of the world = 1 US Dollar
UK = 1 Pound
That's why I dont buy from them anymore. Why should I pay twice as much as everyone else to download a file? Does it cost Beatport more because I happen to live in the UK? No.
It's quite clear that they do not want our business.
For example; Trcakitdown.net charges an extra 25p to download .wavs. That is fair, a quarter of the price that 'the market leader' Beatport offers.
