If your purpose is to release music, then do X/Y/Z.
If your purpose is to write music, then... you are already doing that !

I guess that minot changes can be good, like at a certain point there is not so much happening in the song, so change it, make it shorter or make the break a bit different. I always listen to what labelowners have to say, but changing the whole track is out of the question, because then it's like choosing the chocolate pie, while u like the applepie best...

A good tip is to let friends or other producers listen to the track you made, it can really help straightening certain things out.... ciao!

be carefulll with the EGO trip guys,,,, i receive a few not to bad tracks in the last months for a future chill release

&

i give to the composers a few comments for modify the structure & the mix of this tracks

& they not whant modify the stuff (im ok with this, we are all free)

so,,
they are not into a future chill release ......

why ? the track is not 100% good for "my taste".
Im very sad,, because i receive a lot of good music, but this music is good only for 70% & we dont whant release a not to bad track, we whant a good track!!!!100% good

I mean,,, for the chilling goddess cd,, we have work very close with a few new artists for finalize the tracks & we are all of us , very happy to the result

Of course the label manager need to respect the style of the artist , dont push him in a wrong direction, & also stay focus into the vibes/feelings/evolution/wishes of the composer.

& of course we are all diferents & this is only my poor opinion

make tracks selection for labels is a hard work.......

hmmm .. so now some of this starts making sense to me .... but as i see it , writing music just for the sake of pleasure and enjoyment is equally important as releasing it is .... becuase if the world or the people for whom all the music is made , dont get a chance to lissen to .. why keep making music in the bedroom and keep listening to it yourselves ??

so , for me writing good music , that im satisfied is very importaant as getting released it ....

and yes , small changes like taking out a certain lead or maybe trying a new sound over the exsisting one ... these suggestions are always welcome ..

moreover , i know many artists ... who when released were a new benchmark in the sound design , vibe and overall musicality and soon others wanted to be like them ..... astral projection , infected mushroom , sub 6 , x dream , yahel are to name a few .... but the point is ....

werent these artists told to modifly their music , accordinly to the music conditions @ that time ?

understandin the scene better ,will only help all artists to make better music .....

other question that i have in mind is ...

once u release 2-3 tracks , then is it any easier to release music , the way u made it .... becuase you are already a name in the market and things are different now .....

pls let me know , what you guys think ...

thank you ,

respect .. chandan !

just would like to add something again.
the labels of today are realy ignorant to experience and styles, they just want to release selling-good compilations with sound X and Y.
if you ask me, most want to release astrix-fakes.
i understand completly that you dont want to follow (into the grave of faithless music).
create your style, if you do your way, the right contacts come automaticly. and believe me, people of the future want styles, not copies. what is selling good today, means not that it sells tomorrow too. you have to find your own constant design and development. but if one time the taste of an a&r fits with you, get in touch with his mind and ideas. you need to connect with people who have the same visions.

yeah .... i shouldnt surely get hassled if i really dont find the right labels right away , but must continue to develop my own vibe and sound design ....

but , another question that i have as Ron Lyner put it is ... release a few tracks on the p2p netoworks , so that more ppl know abt me and my music ....

is that good way to go ? can anybody here recommend it ? and if a couple of tracks are out , do any labels come forward too ?

please post your experiences in this regard ...

thank you ,

love , light and respect .. .chandan !

actually i have 1 internet label and 2 others that search tracks for comps that are interested in my music...

but i have no time for a record deal i will go for cdr release i think...

i remember with my former band we send out some demo cd´s we received only 3 answers. 1 label was interested but wanted to edit out all speech samples and therefore add more dist vox and more dancey stuff.

i declined.

@MARGHERITA: Making music is not like being a shef in a restaurant preparing meals. If the client asks you for his steak brown roasted and without any salt, you will do that no prob. But if the label asks you for X, Y, Z then you tell them to start cooking their own food

Of course, a good solution to provide the label with 3-4 tracks so they can choose the one they like.           http://triplex.trance.net

hey triplex,,

a chef making food , is the same of a composer making music... (my opinion) , but the client dont have nothing to talk with us about the choice of tastes.

Exchange comments & visions about a future release is a good way ,,,

Our tracks choice is not leaded by the market or the fans,
we whant only release good music ,,

But we are all free, this is only my opinion,,, im shure we are not to much into this way,,, & of course when we receive more of 1 track from a artist, is more easy to find something good for us.

The P2P ?????? bad stuff,,, when the track is on the P2P is dead for the market,
so is cool to say this guy make good music,, but the labels (usual) whant buy only unreleased & unlisten music.
so in this case WAVELOGIX you need compose a new one for release

Cheers

i put all my unreleased trax into the internet, because i decided not to follow the trancelabels of today anymore (98% have no individual character in my opinion)
i now concentrate to make demos for a few specified labels which work for styles not for copies of artist x and y, but this means also that i have to work close with the a&r. so i can keep my face without trying to copy anyone and even work together with the label.

but putting out all other trax into the net was a very wise decision, imo p2p is not good for that, it makes you anonym. better release on a homepage with bookingcontacts etc. that people will keep you in mind better. works good! the pearls you keep for high-quality demos and the trash you release for free in the net.

here`s a story.. when infected looked for a label
they got to one label who like the music but asked them to change x,y,z . they refused and went to BNE..
heres my opinion:
if compramise will get you to release that track than sometimes its good ..after you release one track, you got a "ticket in" to release more !

well maybe if you put it on the net it will be harder to release it, but more people will listen to you like you wanted in the first place.
and maybe put it in a homepage will be better than p2p cause you will be less anonym like mantik said.

but i would do both of them cause in p2p you'll get more people hear it i think and if they wanna know who are you they'll find it on the net..

after alot of people will listen to your music you'll have a better chance to release your next tracks           http://www.o-zen.com/art/ranal
