well i wouldn't change things in my computer based upon answers givven here. from my experience you can never know and even if you can exchance slots every time you take action with your computer you are taking a risk. so if it is working ok now you are risking making it not working. try asking this question in a computer support forum of somekind.

If you're runing a plug n play OS like windows XP/2K/ME/9X you can feel safe to do it. Windows will automatically recognize the change and will update the address/irq settings.

if you want to be sure even more then go into your bios and find the "Reset Configuration Data" and "Plug and Play OS" features and select yes for them both.

it will force your OS to Reinitalize the address settings.

Gothmog, you said "well i wouldn't change things in my computer based upon answers givven here"

I don't agree with that. Some users here have a vast knowledge with computers and hardware.

I specfically working with those machines about 10 years.

Unless your PC is very old you won't be able to switch between the cards cause Graphic Cards nowadays come with AGP interface.

You should be in no trouble if you switch cards. There are some funny stuff going on with the PCI bus though. Sometimes the cards have to be in a certain order - I remember once, I installed an ethernet card, and it just wouldn't show up anywhere in Windows. I don't know how I got the idea, but I swapped places between ethernet and graphics adapter, and everything turned out fine.
The OS found everything for itself, and no hacking was nescesary

in general, if u like to switch pci-card places, u should first uninstall it and then reinstall the drivers...
