I need some advice on this topic. Lets say I have loaded albino with my bank of presets and thet I have 3 leeds not playing at same time thet will run on albino. What is best way to automate preset change? Do you eaven do this or you load each preset on another instant of synth. I was thinkig something about drawing a midi paralel with my lead and on difrent velocity to change the preset. Is this posible at all, and if yes is there maybe some bether way to do it?

you could automate the presets but best is to have 3 own channels. For each preset .Or the really best is to bounce as fast as possible to release shit from cpu in my beginnah opinion. And have then 3 audio channels for each of your presets or more.
If you want to let them play together, there is no way with one synth of the same kind. Therefore you must then bounce to audio or load 3 instances of the synth for midi with each preset you need. https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden |

automating preset changes is probably not the best approach with software. you should have them in different instances of vsti's. and if you are worried about your cpu choking, you can simply freeze your channels (if your sequencer has this function, which i think at this point all of them should...check the manual). bouncing would also be good. which is really what happens anyway behind the scenes when you freeze the channel (with the bonus of being able to quickly unfreeze the channel, in case you want to make some changes to the sound).

my blofeld does this job really great!!! and sure it´s also possible with software, dunno now but would be pretty hard if there´s no.
ahh, wait, i think u can use surge for kinda like that im pretty sure at least. and im not on this sure, but rapture also should do the job....

blofeld is not vsti and when you look on the text of the questioner - he asked for albino.
And i doubt it if its possible to use 3 different presets at one time using one vsti channel when using albino - even if I hardly use this one.
Feel free to correct me if Im wrong.
There are much more vsti that can use several channel but again this wont help to make things more complex than necessary for this question above.
And sure I know also about freezing ^^ but I think apart from maybe bassline vsti freezed its better to have the audio file visible for much more further possibilites in offline proces - as an example.
btw I lost good files with freezing or false unfreezing ,I would not recommend it if its not really needed.

Yes I know for other methods I was just interesed in this topic. Question isnt just for albino its just eg. I just wanted to know how other people doing this Well Ill stick to bounce to audio. Thanx guys for info and your time
EDIT: No its not posible for albino or any other soft synth thet i saw to play two separate leeds on separate presets. Closest is albino 3 with layering option but thets something difrent.

changing presets is a must for live keyboard performance..
and for separate leads u need some stuff with multiple output channels..
I dont automate, rather load another instance when Im producing..
But for live its better to change presets and it can be done with program change midi msg..
U can also midi map controller for changing presets and record that as automation..
I seen some guy using 3 foot pedals for changing presets on 3 synths.. Still searching for a best way to do it..

I work with cuebase. And I can open several Albinos at the same time. The little screen at the left were I assign the vst to the channel it will appear your albino, albino2, albino 3, and so on.
But to bounce is a really good idea, cuz you have more control over your sonds.. |

with layering you should be able to control one sound on fe the lower two octaves of the keyboard and the next sound on the following two octaves etc. This way you could have several sounds coming from one instance of the albino.
This will probably work differently for other synths though. |

I like to equalize every lead with its specific tonal quality in mind. so for production I don't use preset automation.

Yes this is kind a tricky with program change or with this layering trip. Because if you set 2-3 layers they would be on the same eqs, compressors etc. For now still best option to bounce audio track.
