There is no special thechnique .. Its all are in our minds .. Its about expressing yourself , How deep you can get inside of you and "pluck"/Bring it real to here to tell your story . Try see/Feel life more cinematic and grand so you will get the all pictures ..

I think both sounds pretty great, mono might sounds better cause its just sounds present.
There is a sort of phasing effect resulting from ur pan (or not) wich is great.
I think u should mix both, have a send to some widing effect(chorus or other) or just to a sort of panning effect.

That strange panning efect happens because i applied anti-phase to one of the mono panned basslines,dunno if made anything wrong but it sounded right , i'm trying to make what you're advising, but it'not easy balancing everything |
