imho, some artists are starting to create the dark scene some kind of grave trance as said before, i don't think this is what psytrance is all about( i think trance supposed to be more friendly), but don't get me wrong, i'm totally into dark, just don't exaggerate and turn it into some kind of death music. |

Trance isn't "suppose" to be more friendly, or less friendly,
People suppose to make they music they have in their minds, not trying it to fit into this kind of a genre or another ...

Hmmm I think some kinda psychedelic death trance would be very interesting to hear. As long as they perform appart from 'normal' psy parties haha And goths are are pretty friendly bunch you know, so are the death-metal heads. The only ones that are (or actually try to be for the most) misanthropic are the black-metal heads and uber-goths... but those have always been a weird breed hehe (nice music though). As much as there's light and good, there's darkness and evil, and music (actually art in general) should express both. Plus I think overly-happy music should be a source of equal concern... look at the candy kids, they worry me as much as the hardcore black metal heads.

I disagree with that.
I think that if u want to express hate, death, and horror u should express it in other genre of music, if u'd look at the true roots of trance, u won't find anything devious or satanic.
and imho i don't think we should change that. |

Hate, death, and horror are not terms that one should use interchangeably.
Hate is the emotional feeling of wanting the total destruction of the object of the hate.
Death is the doorway between this world and whatever may lie beyond. It is neither good nor bad, but it is the ultimate mystery of human existance because one cannot fully die and then report what it was like from the same body that died (trying to account for the possibility of reincarnation here). So death is a thing of fear and sadness because it means departure from this world, also a thing of hope because of the possibilities of worlds and lives beyond.
Horror is a mixture of fear and revulsion. It comes both from our evolutionarily based instictive fears meant to keep us alive and out of trouble, from what our culture tells us to be afraid of/disgusted by, and our own deep seated fears and phobias.
All are valid themes for psytrance, because I think the purpose of psytrance is to create strong emotional/cognitive sensations, including but not limited to feelings of warmth, joy and hope.

This cd is very dark and heavy , one of the most I've heard. But the really agressive and dark psy music artist is psy-factor ...That quick and sultry kick , That dark and twisted sounds ... really loved |
