IMO, the best pitch shift algorithms are found on Eventide hardware effects (Orville, DSP4000/8000, Eclipse series). Melodyne comes behind Eventide, and the version 3 is able to handle polyphonic sources as well.
And yep, the audio quality from a processed source on Melodyne is awesome.
And wow, try to stretch at maximum any pad synth on Melodyne (I made a sample called "fractured - by Nyagara" using this tip). |

Melodyne is far more than a timestrecher....
it does a whole host of other stuff, albeit it does timestrech , but i dont think from what i read recently that that was hte intention of the programmer directly |

I just tryed Melodyne, it's very good and usefull tool.
But, don't get fooled about the Video tutorials..it's not that simple and perfect as it looks like.
They always use already modified samples to make you buy the product !

Yeah.. hard enough to deal with, so when you use its possibilities fully - it's a great thing! So GUI is terrible///)))
