I just saw on Saiko Sounds that there is a new Celestial Dragon compilation. It must have been travelling under the radar as I thought the next comp was to be Vampire Sunrise...?

Anyway, here's the details:

01. Vakuum Sounds / Evolution Zero
02. Deluge / Babel Is Burning
03. Biodub / Perlboot Nautilus
04. Disrupt / 21st Century Planet Smashers
05. Mungo'fs Hi Fi / Deep Water
06. Dr. Cat / La Madub
07. Rnd Meets Nova / Tortuga
08. Bass Science / Blue Copper
09. Rico Casazza / 04:00 am
10. Sync24 / Things With Wings

Brixton is a place in South London characterized by its vibrant multiethnic artistic and musical identities. Itfs in Brixton where Matt B and Nova first met, at the beginning of the century, a friendship marked by mutual artistic respect and countless gigs played together, often in legendary events and festivals. With Brixton Session Matt B and Nova solidify their reputation as tastemakers in downtempo electronic music putting together a stunning compilation at the very limit of the cutting-edge, a lounge-compatible urban affair with some dance floor sensibilities. Ten brand new tunes representing the cream of the crop of todayfs underground from a variety of styles fusing ambient, electronica, dub, stepper, bass enf breaks and glitch-hop. A groundbreaking anthology featuring some of the globefs most talented new and established artists: RND vs Nova, Mungofs Hi Fi, Bass Science, Sync24, Dr Cat Experience, Rico Casazza, Disrupt, Biodub, Deluge, Vakuum Sounds. Brixton Session is Matt B and Novafs shared vision for low-end frequencies!

Haven't heard the samples yet, but the tracklist make it look appetising!

Nice find! I did some searching, and apart from Psyshop and Saiko, there's not much info out there on it. I'd love to find some samples.

Okay, I've listened to the samples now, they sound great!

Some of the artists appeared on Future Sound Theory 2 earlier this year. Seems like it is another comp in a similar theme to that one. Really enjoyed that one too, by the way.

As this is CDREC-014, I'm guessing that Vampire Sunrise will be CDREC-013 when it hits the light of day, so to speak...

Kudos to Matt and Nova...I'm sure this will be a wicked one. It slipped under my radar also...don't know how that happened Vampire Sunrise got waylaid and will be out in January....then in February Val(liam) will release his artist album Daydreamer (and let me tell you it is beautiful)....I am also working on my Papa Legba album and plan to have it finished in February which means it might see light But in the meantime check out brixton sessions..Matt B has impecable taste that really show in his comps. And I have always really respected Nova. So everyone go grab a copy...I am picking one up with a copy of pan electric and ishq also this eve from saiko....           Lobogistic labs

Been lucky enough to receive a promo and man it is seriously good...

"Brixton Session brings futuristic beats to a new level within the
creative process of rhythmical styles. Showcasing some of the most
talented artists of the moment, this release experiments, tantalises
and flows in a way we haven't heard in a long time! Truly original in
every sense of the word, be prepared for a musical journey that
radiates, taking the listener into uncharted territory". 10/10

I finally picked this up from Saiko Sounds.

It's a great little journey with varied beats and styles.

I'm particularly liking the Vakuum Sounds, Rnd Meets Nova, Rico Casazza, and Sync24 tracks.

Can Vakuum Sounds do no wrong? Another quality track which is comparable to their previous offering on Future Sound Theory 2.

The Sync24 track - Things With Wings - coasts along nicely and develops some nice beats along the way.

Rico Casazza's 4:00am is a nice piece of electronica, and certainly feels like one is driving through empty city streets at that time of the morning. I love it - tho it does end rather abruptly.

All in all, this release is definitely one for the case.
