I think the best feature the CDJ-2000 has is the needledrop feature. Very useful for psy, makes finding your cue point very fast! |

For that price you could buy two laptops! It seems like overkill and I never expect to see these bad boys at a gig.

ive tried them out now and yea they are damn nice. quite sure they will become the new club standard.
I know several clubs in town that have booked them once they are out on the market.

| I think the clubs and massives will certainly pick them up but I will be surprised if I ever see them at a psy gig given that some people still use the ancient CDJ-100 that don't even have the loop feature.
The main advantage this has over laptop is durability and reliability. Laptops crash and break much more easily! |

I got to play on DVJ's at a psytrance festival so nothing is impossible.
Btw anyone remembers how much the cdj-100 cost when it was released in 98?

With the needle search function it has the best of both worlds cd's and computer dj software type searching.

Don't get me wrong it seems like a nice package for people who are looking for a hardware solution to digital DJing, but the DJV 2000 is only worth $1000 USD. Denons 3700 model for $900 is an overall better deck in my opinion, even compared to the CDJ 2000. The Denon is for serious DJ's who like to put on a show instead of button fiddle or play with a lifeless platter on CDJs.
Pioneer must be off their nut asking these kind of prices for CD decks, normal DJs will never be able to afford them and their user base will be reduced in the end unless they start offering the CDJ1000s for a significantly lower price. Every new release from Denon is just getting better and better for very affordable prices. Pioneer will only remain the industry standard if the industry can afford to own and use their decks. |
