ok so this same topic exists somewhere else on this forum but fuck it!

I like American Djs over the pioneer crap. Although they do (pioneer) have a large threshold for abuse and they can even take on the playa dust! cmx 3000 is cool too but I Still like the plain design of Ameroican DJ.

I agree with Dimitri.. the 800's are the best out of all of them.. you have your more accurate pitch and its half the price of the 1000's.

I picked myself up a pair and its the best thing i've done in a while..

ohh and as for newmarks.. hahaha.. please..           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

hmm well if we are branching out...
yes the 800s are nice, not as big, not as $$ and they came with 100% from the start.

numarks play well but tend to break.
my numark cdn88s died right before a big show once... got them fixed as that was cheaper than buying new decks.
the axis 8s are pretty much the same as the CDN90s i think, they play pretty well for the price for sure... but you never know when they are going to die....my cdn88s are subject to gremlins... i wont be relying on them for much longer.

denon players are the most durable, versatile and reliable. if i ever buy another pair of decks, denon is it.

Thank you bluespectralmonkey , you pointed out all this stuff that I didn’t like about 100's , this almost makes me want to throw them out and get 1000's mkII , which I hope I will soon do : P
Only yeah will be hard to let go of those nice buttons jet, wah ... but jet is on 500 mixer and I can always get effect box as well!!!
I say go 1000's even though I never played with them, but I carefully read many reviews about them ... And about price...
I would be surprised if this kind of quality equipment would cost less $$$
Only 1 uncomfortable thing I agree is the size...

Hidro owns 800's and I love them! Thats what I'm taking with me for the L.A. music awards. Who needs 1000's?

It's all about vinyl scratch...

I own the 100s, and two SL1200MK2. While i miss the exact pitch resolution of the turntables...it is so easy to keep the tracks dead on the 100s, it does not make much of a difference.

The effects help me add some dinamics and extra layering to the main track playing. So I vote for them to stay. I usually can mix track fairly fast and I usually remix tracks layering other tracks on top for about 4 minutes. So filtering or flanging sounds fun sometimes.

IMHO it is not the machines that make the DJ, You work with what you have and you make the best of it. Before spending the money to get to CDJ1000 I would get a Kaos Pad.

You know David, I agree with you....I love my American DJ's...I think I have two of the most basic model ever made, but I love 'em.

assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

For the record, all of the mix CDs I have made over the last year have been on a pair of Numark Axis-8 CDJs and a Vestax PCV-275 mixer.

(except for my BIRTHDAY MIX, which was recorded live from The Luna Lounge in SF, which has the CMX 3000s and a Rane mixer that I don't know the model number of)

I have worked on Numarks, I have worked on Denons. I have worked on Gemini and American DJ players, and I have worked on Pioneers. I have worked on the HomeMixer systems, and I have worked in a club that had the basic stereo CD player components instead of CDJs.

I personally believe the best DJs learn and continue to play on various equipment. The key is adaptability and versatility across the board.

IMHO.
