Is there a CD player that uses audio extraction?
My Delta 66 doesn't have an analog cd input, so the only way I can listen to cd's is by ripping them to mp3, and that sucks a bit.
So I was wondering if there's a player than can do it digitally..
Freeware preferred

you don't have any cheap on board soundcards ?

trip: no money, no need

Just tell me if you know of such a program. That's all.

Edit:
Ok I've found it after 1 hour of googling.

Mike A, this is annoying, but in linux the KDE desktop offers you exactly what you need:
when u insert a CD, there apears a special virtual directory
with the contents of your audio CD in: wav,mp3,ogg. all u need to do is to drag the song/song's dir into a real directory, and the file-manager extracts the CD "on-line" (it takes some time, though)
besides there's a special plugin for winamp, i don't exactly remember its name, but look the old input plugins for winamp - it's something allowing you to EQ cd-audio = it plays it via DirectPlay (not via cd-driver) ... hope i helped u.

cheers.

Mikey, just a lil' FYI, the current media player, whatever its version is, gives you just what you need. I have the same issue with my Layla.

Cheers
