Rena Jones' label Cartesian Binary Recordings released this gem of a compilation earlier this month. It seems to have slipped under the radar here, but is well worth checking out.
Not all of the tracks gelled with me, but some of the standouts are from Hands Upon Black Earth, EVAC feat Rena Jones, Field Rotation, The Moving Dawn Orchestra and Phidelity.
Actually the EVAC and Field Rotation tracks are the stars here for mine. Lovely stuff. (I know that i say that all too often, but i like the phrase) 
It's definitely something out of the ordinary, which is a good thing.

Yeah there's some great tracks on there.
The Field Rotation track almost seems to tell a stroy. With the footsteps appearing it sounds like someone has made their paper boat, is then walking down to a creek, and then letting it go it's little journey in the water as the music really starts to take off. Sublime! |
