A very good first album including very fresh tones, which is a good news currently with the dogs days in Europe.

As refreshing and as tasty as a daïquiri, Hydroponic Garden is the must-have trance/chill-out album either for bringing with you in hollydays or for those who want to travelling without moving from their home through the 11 softfull sonic journeys proposed by the 2 swedish guys (Johannes Hedberd & Daniel Ringström) from Carbon Based Lifeforms.

Highlighted destinations :2,3,6,9,11.

Mark:9/10

What an opening- I recommend to leave a few candles in the room, turn off the light and turn up the volume- like crossing an unseen curtain to another dimension- foo! And on the other side awaits you a mellow alien atmosphere, which oozes out of this piece of plastic. You just cross and start your journey. And do not worry if it is a hot day, because here it's chilled, almost physically chilled, everything here is blue and aquatic, watery, it's dripping! Wonder around through the soundscapes and you'll discover weird and beautiful places and creatures- it's all there in your mind, and here's the music to extract it out.
I just love this beautiful album of this Swedish duo. It's very relaxing, very emotional, very musical- almost visual, yet very powerful. These guys now how to create music and sounds that really touch you inside. And when your music has a strong feeling in it, when it can really touch something inside, it's there to stay. And I know that this is an album that is gonna stay with me for long. I will listen to it in times I'll feel like immersing myself in sounds that paints another world, in times I'll need to chill or cool down, in times I want to feel.

Bottom Line: Feel the chill! My best chill album of the summer, so far. Favorites: 1(!!!), 2, 3(!), 4, 8, 9, 10(!), 11.           ---------------------------------------------

In my opinion this is still the best chill album to emerge so far from Ultimae. I thought the Solar Fields albums and Aes Dana and H.U.V.A. Network were good, but this is even better...!! I've listened this album a couple of times now and it just doesn't stop being interesting!! I love Ultimae and have all their releases, but this stands out! If you haven't got this yet and you take your chilling seriously, then I suggest you go get this right this minute!! Psyshop still ships it as far as I know

Mos 6581 is the best track IMO....... fantastic, atmospheric and pure psybient            - The yeti loves to drink shnaps too, so he's like a real shaman... he, uhm, uh, if you want to contact him, you have to put some alcoholic offerings in front of the forest.

The Debut album from Johannes Hedberg & Daniel Ringström AKA CARBON BASED LIFEFORMS is not only The best ambient album (Awarded in many reviews troughout the Internet and Mags) of 2003 but i guess from the last 2 or 3 years.
It has some quite simple formula.IT sooths the soul.the tracks have only what they need to function giving it the genious formula to touch us deeply.Less shaping and more into slow rythms but with some very nice melodic parts and crossing grooves.
Tracks to remember. MOS 6581 is probably on my all time top 10 ambient tracks.Trully remarkable. CENTRAL PLAINS , NEUROTRANSMITER ...
Try to sleep on it.every track has it's own message and every one is a good one.
If you like this one i recomend their DEMO album called "The Path".

REMARKABLE 10/10 on my shelf for a very long time!           "Just someone who loves a good sound session"

Got a link to a shop where we can buy it?
or is it a "only available through p2p" album?            - The yeti loves to drink shnaps too, so he's like a real shaman... he, uhm, uh, if you want to contact him, you have to put some alcoholic offerings in front of the forest.

I think ,unfortunately that it's not availiable in the commercial circuit.i think you can find it in P2P... or on the old Mp3.Com where CBL owned a space.

try it out on their site

http://www.carbonbasedlifeforms.net

they have a preety good samples from "The path".

I hope they would polished it and release it. *** GRIN ***           "Just someone who loves a good sound session"

Still running strong, a whole new world through this music.

simply WOW !! simply psychedelic, simply a new dimension, simply spiritual.
