Hi

I was making a track and I realized I could save some cpu if in some way I can change the instruments on the same plug in insert.

If you didnt get what I'm trying to say,

I have a piano-like instrument loaded on vanguard for the intro, i want to load another instrument later in the song, probably a lead, in the same plugin. Is this possible?           Your life is yours to create

This can be done if a synthesizer is multitimbral, means that you can use different sounds with the same synth, usually 4 or more instances up to 16, i dont know if Vanguard is though, if it is you can make a new midi track and route it to midi out 2 instead of 1 and change it from the synth too, check the manual of vanguard too

You can change preset with a MIDI message: program change.

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you mean, but if you want to process sounds from two different VSTis through the same plugin chain you can make a group channel and put your plugins on that, and route both VSTis to it. Most DAWs worth using will let you do that.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

@Zork

I use FL 9.

@Colin

you're talking about layers in FL? where you can set the children?

I just want to change the preset on a vst after the intro so i can play the lead on it. And I don't know how to send a midi program change. how do you do that on FL?
